What is an AI process audit, and what should you expect?

What happens during an AI process audit, what you get at the end, and why measuring the baseline matters more than the technology.

An AI process audit answers one question: where would AI give you back the most time, for the least risk? It’s a structured look at how work actually happens today, and a costed plan for changing it.

It is deliberately not a technology pitch. The tools come last.

What happens during the audit

  • Discovery. We sit with the people doing the work and map each process step by step, including the hand-offs and the rework that never makes it into the official diagram.
  • Measurement. We attach time and cost to every step, producing a baseline: this is what the work costs you today, in hours and euros.
  • Opportunity mapping. We mark which steps are mechanical (automatable) versus judgement (kept human), and where AI is genuinely reliable today.
  • Design & projection. For the highest-impact processes, we sketch the AI-assisted workflow and project the time saved: a concrete before/after.

What you get at the end

A short, practical report you can act on:

  1. A measured baseline of where time goes now.
  2. A prioritised shortlist of AI opportunities, ranked by hours saved and risk.
  3. A redesigned workflow and projected ROI for the top candidates.
  4. A clear recommendation on what to implement first.

Why the baseline matters most

Without a baseline, “AI saved us time” is just a feeling again. With one, every change is measurable: you can prove the savings, defend the investment, and decide what to do next based on evidence. That’s why we measure before we build. And again after.

You can stop at the audit and implement the roadmap yourself, or have us build and embed the workflows. Either way, you leave with clarity instead of a hunch. Book a strategy call to start.
